18th world ranked Shahar Peer confirmed for Barcelona KIA’08
The presence of the Israeli player raises the sporting level to its highest in the six years of the tournament’s history.
RM Comunicación Integral, 5 June; The level of play at Barcelona KIA’08 received a boost just 48 hours before the commence at the David Lloyd Club Turó. The Israeli, Shahar Peer, who currently occupies 18th place in the Sony Ericsson WTA world rankings, has confirmed her participation in Barcelona, where she will be placed among the favorites to win the title.
The confirmation will make Barcelona KIA’08 its most competitive in the six years the event has been running. Peer is a member of the Israeli Federation Cup and for the last two years finished among the top 20 players in the world. She joins the list of other top world ranked players competing at the Women’s International Tennis Championship of Spain such as Maria Kirilenko, Anabel Medina, Carla Suárez and Dominika Cibulkova.
